xps 9100 start up OS issue

  • I recently had another computer act up. So I decided I would put a fresh OS on the system. I couldn't due to bad sata cable port at the time so I put it in my XPS and formatted it then put a fresh OS of Windows 7 on it. Now when I start my computer thinks there's 2 OS on it. How do I get ride of this?

  • HI My name is Hitesh and I work for the Social Media and Community Team at Dell. If I understand you correctly you have installed multiple copies of the operating system on the computer. Which is called parallel installation, You can try the below given step :-

Open Start-Run and enter msconfig Click the tab "BOOT.INI" The contents of the boot.ini file are shown and a number of configuration settings are available. Under Operating systems, delete the one you don't want. Be careful not to delete the wrong one. (Delete the second that is older one or the second one)

Please reply if this information is helpful.
