(Disclaimer: Im a noob)
I read on the help page (http://quest.bb4.com/bb/help/help/Configuration_Files_Editor.htm) that I need to create the etc/editcode file with a auth-code to enable this feature.
Thus far I am still unable to edit the config-files from the web gui.. Is it supposed to be a specific file type, or do you need to give out theese codes?
PS: We are currently running BB Server 4.60 on the server that is live, but Im testing out the new features on 5.01 on a test-server. Is this feature available without a real license-file?
I tried once more following this guide ( https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL59756 ) and now it works!
If I understood correctly, I just read that this new feature is just available on the Unix version?
you have to manually edit the edit/editcode file. That's all.
Well, I have edited the file with the password: test, restarted the server service, and this does not work when I try to edit the files..
Error code: error
Is the file readable by the web server? (acl)
Was there ever any resolution on this? I'm having the exact same issue.
I am having the same issue.....I even tried perms of 777 on the files for a perms check no luck
the other user is on windows, you seem to be on *nix. Have you check the web server error logs for any errors?
I am on Windows as well.
which ACL did you use?
Here is the guide that I used. https://support.quest.com/SolutionDetail.aspx?id=SOL59756 If I need to change some permissions on something that is not in the guide, would you be able to point me to a guide that tells me what needs done? Or if you are able to generalize what needs to be done . . . that would be helpful as well.
I'm sorry, haven't had the time to check up on this yet. I will do it later today!
FYI: Problem is still present, but now the worst problem is that bbndt.exe is using 80-100% cpu power allmost all the time.. So thats why I haven't had the time :-P
is your pegged CPU problem gone too?
No, the CPU-issue is still present..
Still working on this.
