How do you code multi-level subpages in bb-hosts files?

This question has been answered by grepmaster

I am trying to create multi-level subpages in bb-hosts file and am so far unsuccessful. I want to create a hierarchy something like this:

From main BB screen, have a page titled "SAP Systems". When I select that page, have it display sub pages for "Production", "Test", etc. Then if I select Test, it displays subpages for each test SID such as T00, T01, T02, etc Then select the SID to see info about database server and application server.

(top level BB screen)

SAP Systems

select SAP Systems and get subpage that displays

Production Systems

Test Systems

select either of these subpages, and it will display another set of subpages, one for each SID (such as T00, T01, etc). For example, select Test Systems and it displays subpages for

T00

T01

T02

Select any of these subpages, and then you get information about the database servers and application servers for that SID.

I found a link on the Quest knowledgebase, and the sample screens were what I was looking for, but the bb-hosts file they included did not match their screens.

Thanks,

  • You can create an extra level of drilldown by configuring display zones. Doing so will change the default URL to your BBDISPLAY. To do this:

    1. Edit $BBHOME/etc/bbdef-server.sh (%BBHOME%\etc\bbdef.cfg on Windows).

    2. Set BBCURRDISP="something"

    3. Edit your bb-hosts file (bb-hosts.cfg on Windows) and use the "display" token to create the third level drilldown you're looking for, something like:

    # Your bb-hosts file

    192.168.33.16 bbpe-fc001.quest.com # BBDISPLAY BBPAGER BBNET http://localhost/bb

    display sap_systems

    page prodsystems Production Systems

    subpage t01 t01
    group-compress SIDs
