Dell Precision 7550 and 7750 System BIOS - 1.24.0 Breaks Docking Station USB C

After months of WD19S docking station not working due to a bios issue, Dell fixed it.

A new Forced windows update bios 1.24.0 now breaks USB C again.

The Docking station will only power through 1 USB not both at the same time!!!

The Laptop powers down at it can't provide enough power.

Also my screens don't work either.

Why don't dell test before release.. there is no roll back with this BIOS either so probably have wait another 6 -12 months to use the Dock and all the accessories attached.

@DELL- Nat M

I reached out to my ProSupport contact and found out that it CAN be done, but only by special exception.  The process works like this:

1.  Someone at Dell support requests an exception for you.

2.  Once the exception is granted you will receive a link to a Dell secure file transfer.

3.  You download a Beta BIOS that will install over 1.24.0 (the beta starts with 98.x.x.x).

4.  After that you (supposedly) can reinstall 1.23.1 over the 98.x beta.

I have downloaded the files but I have important customer meetings so I won't be trying it until late tomorrow or Friday in case Dell's "fix" screws something else up .....

Not trying to hijack the thread. I have a 7750 and just got a new WD19DCS. My firmware is 1.23.1, but I'm having the same issue everyone here is describing.

Has anyone had this problem with a WD19DCS on Firmware 1.23.1?

Wondering if I have a bad copy or if maybe my computer is messed up.

@DELL- Nat M PM's work now. If we can just get a fix for this BIOS fiasco, we'll be good.

Has anyone had success getting support to help so far? I'm currently traveling and I do not want to screw up my laptop even more while on the road. With the amount of affected devices, why do we have to jump through all these hoops to hope for support to allow us each individually roll back to a previous version? Why is there not a true public fix for some of the most expensive machines that can be ordered from Dell that are all handicapped now?
