Dell 7810 8pin gpu

Hello. My son in law gave me an Xfx Radeon RX570 8gb which takes a single 8 pin power cable. My 7810 has dual 6 pin power. I noticed on the board, dell uses a 8 pin to dual 6 pin power. Can I unplug the cable and run a single 8 pin from the board to the gpu?

In general user needs to be careful about Dell proprietary psu power distribution board.  the pinout on the board side is often non-standard.

it is safer just to use the Dell 8 pin to two 6 pin cable.  you can use a dual 6 pin to 8 pin adapter to get a 8 pin on gpu side.

if you want to use a standard 8 pin to 8 pin cable, you would need to first confirm the Del board pinout compatibility with standard pinout.

@redxps630

thank you for the quick response. The gpu came with a dual 6 pin to single 8 pin adapter. I’ll use that.

@redxps630 I came across this cable. Would this work or is the Pin out probably different?

Always double check and do not trust vendor info blindly.

I think @DELL-Chris M may be able to confirm for you whether that cable is indeed for 7810.
