  • I think E520 is compatible with Dual-core only, not Core 2 Duo......
  • I'm not able to return the Core 2 Duo so i just have to buy a brand new one.

Is the Dimension E520 Pentium 4 Compatible?

  • It is P4 compatible coz im running it :D
  • Ok thank you :D

I might be able to trade or sell this CPU

  • What about Pentium D?

  • Everyone is saying that IT IS EVEN CORE 2 DUO compatible, but im not totally convinced...
  • My dell e520 came with a Core 2 Duo e6320, so I don't know what you guys are talking about.

  • See here.

  • I've been looking at this for about 4 weeks now....

    you might try...

if it doesn't work just return it...

  • If the Processors end with "50" instaed of "00" it will not work. The ones that end with "00" are 1066mhz FSB as required by the 520 and the "50's" are 1333mhz FSB.

The Core2Duo will work in your E-520. I have the E-6600 in mine upgraded from a Pentiun D 820 Dual Core.

Even the Q-6600 Quad will work.

Just make sure about the bus speed of 1066 mhz.

  • Yep,im runing the Q6600 Quad in mine and also have run the e2140 before that.

  • How do you install new CPU , do you just pop it in and boot up the computer???or do u have to play with BIOS :(
  • That's it. Just install and boot as normal. Windows will recognize it and install the necessary drivers. No need to enter the BIOS.
