  • The Dell OEM Nvidia GeForce GTX745 video card out ports can do the following resolutions =
    DVI-D SL 2560x1600 60Hz
HDMI 1.4a 1920x1080 60Hz (or higher resolution at lower Hz)
    VGA 2048x1536 60Hz

The problem is none of our currently selling monitors that have DVI in ports can do 2560. They all max to 1920x1200 60Hz or 1920x1080 60Hz. The P2416D monitor has a VGA in port that can do 2048x1152 60Hz =
GeForce GTX 745 VGA out port --> VGA to VGA cable --> P2416D VGA in port

Or remove the mid range GeForce GTX745 video card and replace it with a higher ended video card (Nvidia GTX 960/970/980) that has DP (DisplayPort) out port or mDP (Mini-DisplayPort) port. Then choose one these 2560x1600 60Hz or 2560x1440 60Hz monitors.

  • Thank you Chris. I will look into upgrade (or upgrade my whole PC to higher end video card).

  • Thank you Teddi. While any monitor would work, I was really after the maximum resolution the GeForce GTX 745 would support.

    See previous thread en.community.dell.com/.../19614724

With that information, which of the current models could I buy an run successfully at 60Hz with resolutions above 1920x1080?

    Many thanks

    Richard
