    You answered your own question. Dell upgrade program sends you the originally installed 32 bit version of Windows. The dell upgrade disk does not have the option of installing the 64 bit version as the retail upgrade has. You will need to clean install the 32 bit version, but you will not be able to...

    I will be purchasing a 500GB hard drive from Dell for my Inspiron 9300. Is there a tutorial or link on Dell.com that can provide a step-by-step process for using the Reinstallation CD(s) on a new hard drive? Thanks!
