Customer Question
- "Can a Dell ML6020 Tape library attached to our FC SAN be partitioned and accessed within a Virtual Machine?"
Answer
-
No, as of vSphere 4.0, ESX only supports connectivity to parallel SCSI tape libraries (
VMware KB 1016407
)
NOTE
: IN addition to being SCSI attached, the tape library has to be multi-target, not multi LUN, so the VM can be assigned a C:#T:#L:0 from the library.
