WD15 Docking Station is not allowing the use of Keyboard nor Mouse at BitLocker prompt

  • I have three Precision 3510 using the WD15 docking stations.

We are using BitLocker Encryption on these machines.

When the user is prompted to type in the BitLocker Key, they are unable to use the keyboard and mouse.  The user has to open the lid on the laptop type in the key on the laptop, then close it again.

Meanwhile, the video is still working correctly.

It's as if it's not recognizing the USBs.

I have run the BIOS update and Firmware update and all the other updates that were needed.  Otherwise, it is functioning correctly, it's just at BitLocker.

    Any Suggestions?

  • We have the same problem here with regular windows domain login, cannot use an external keyboard connected to docking before actual login. It seems like its how its supposed to work

  • Hi guys,

Same issue in our domain: Latitude 5480, Windows 10, Bitlocker enabled.  Doesn't allow the user to log in without entering the Bitlocker key every time.  Updated to the latest BIOS, chipset and video drivers as well as the correct WD-15 driver.  Anyone else seeing this??  Very frustrating.

  • Hello,

How is your Bitlocker configured (PCR)? Do you have HDD as first boot option?
