I'm trying to follow these instructions, but I'm running into some basic problems. It appears OM 6.1 moved/renamed the Content Manager tool. I can't manage to find it anywhere on the 6.1 version of the System Management Tools and Documentation DVD.

Agreed, I'm not finding it. I really need a stable link that I can refer others to; at the moment I can't find it at all.

My problem is that if you have VMware on the server you probably have tagged VLans to all network ports; that is not supported by the lifecycle manager so you cannot do a network update without recabling. Hence VMware = update with USB. In practise I'm seeing people give up on lifecycle manager and just burn a DVD with the Dell update compilation and update with that, bypassing the onboard capability.

There's a replacement for Content Manager, not released yet, be on the lookout for "Repository Manager"

So for now the best option is to use a 6.0.1 download?

Yes, for right now just use the old version of Content Manager on the 6.0.1 download.
