RE: Enabling iSCSI Adapter on Broadcom 5708 on R805
Hello,
maybe http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/network/BroadCom/R125875/en/iscsi.htm will help to setup the ISCSI settings. Did you buy the TOE ISCSI feature which is coming along with the R805 ? If so, you can use that to use your NICS as a "light" ISCSI HBA, its not a real one, but you are able to boot from ISCSI (also described at http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/network/BFi/) and on the doc of Broadcom, but if you are intending to perform an ISCSI boot form a virtual machine which is running on an ESX server you might need additional software like EMBOOT or a real ISCSI HBA (vmware software iscsi adapter does not allow booting form ISCSI), but that depends on your ISCSI storage as well as the used virtual solution
Please respond if you need more ideas and help.
Best regards
Marcus
