RE: file servers on R710 with windows 2008R vs power vault 1200
PowerVault MD1200 is simply a disk enclosure. You still need to connect it to a server - for example the R710.
Can you provide some more details ? What applications are you running that need to be centralized ? How many locations ? How many users are connecting over the leased lines ? What type of IO (size, reads vs writes, random, sequential) ?
That will help us point you in the right direction.

RE: file servers on R710 with windows 2008R vs power vault 1200
We need to replicate shared folders with doc/excel/pdf kind of data on file servers which we want to replicate from branch offices to centralize head office location over 128 kbps lease lines so that centrally we can schedule backups.
we have total 4 branches with 128 kbps point to point lease lines from HO to branchofifces. data size in each locations are approx 50 gb with approx. 500 Mb updates everyday in each locations.
