Adding a PV MD3200i to a PS Group
What are the potential issues with adding an MD3200i to an existing PS group? Is it supported? If it is supported where can I find a document that explains best practices.
thanks!

RE: Adding a PV MD3200i to a PS Group
Hello Rob,
unfortunately there is no way to add a MD 3200I to an existing PS group with out a 3 rd party storage virtualisation tool, the MD has got a complete different architecture and usage , depending on situation, sometimes is useful and sometimes not i.e. local based shared storage with a LUNs like 3 times 1 TB NL SAS raid 5 and 2 times 450 GB SAS 15 in raid 1 on 1 enclosure (MD) against 16 drives with 450 GB 15k in a raid 5 , based on that creating LUNs with different size (METALUN PS Series).
If you really want to use a MD with an EQL you need a 3rd solution like FALCONSTOR, DATACORE, etc. , but , if intending to implent a storage virtualisation like this, check first if the solution has got all needed functions like replication, based operating system of Virtualisation tool, Snapshots an so on .... the PS series offers many really useful functionalities as well as the MD Series, both are ISCSI storages and they can be used from one server due to ISCSI protocol, but they are complete different ISCSI storage solutions.
Best regards
Marcus
