Does anyone know why the Quest Site Admin Metrics reports would show 56.6 GB total content on a site collection and the SharePoint Storage Space Allocation reports show 22 GB used on the same site collection? I am just wondering why there is a discrepancy.
i've not tried
but the following may help according to http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/windows-sharepoint-services-it/command-line-operations-HA001160843.aspx#BMrecalculatestorageused
stsadm -o recalculatestorageused virtual server url

Site Admin calculates site collection size by his own query but algorithm is the same as in SharePoint one.
Here are details about what do we calculate:
To troubleshoot this issue I recommend to force SharePoint to recalculate the size of site collection stored in SharePoint database:
Please run the following PowerShell script on a front-end and check size after that.
$s = new-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.SPSite("http://qaserver:port/sites/assetservices")
Replace qaserver:port with the value from your environment
The following Microsoft link describes this method: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.spsite.recalculatestorageused.aspx
Thank you for the quick response. I forgot to mention that this is WSS 3.0 and powershell is not installed. Is there an alternate method way to refresh the statistics for WSS 3.0.
