How to: Discover what AD accounts have logged-in in last 90 days

Using Site Admin for SharePoint, is it possible to run a report that lists and counts all AD accounts that have accessed SharePoint in the last 90 days? This would help us to manage our CALs.

  • Chris, Site Administrator currently does not provide that level of aggregation. The site usage report will show number of unique users that have accessed within past month, but you cannot get the same aggregation on higher levels.

You can use Site Administrator to get the raw info and build your report. This would require some manual work or scripting based on the same site usage report, specifically drill down and CSV export from most active users.

    Resulting CSV will include:

    • All users who have accessed any content within site/site collection
    • Last 30 days
    • Data is broken down by day

To get the list of users for the entire environment you'll need to reconciliate the raw data from all site collections, filter out duplicates, etc.

    Hope this helps.
