Foglight for Virtualization - Standard Edition - Storage Latency

Foglight for Virtualization - Standard Edition - Storage Latency

This question is answered

Hello,

Would like to know how to differentiate between storage latency on various datastores - as opposed to having the same threshold on all.

The default settings suits us well on our produktion datastores, but we have a few datastores where 200ms is no issue, and would like to have that reflected in foglight to avoid SPAM-alerts.

Best regards

  • Hi,

There are probably 2 ways to handle this, if it is a large number of datastores the first option will be faster to implement:

    1. Modify the rule and put a condition on the datastore name and compare against a different value for the datastores where that latency is different.

    2. When you look at the rule condition there is usually some sort of a variable, something like datastoreLatency.warning/critical/fatal or something similar. When you go to administration > manage registry variables   you can find your variable and edit it and scope it. Scope it to have a different value for the datastores where you want other values

press next and choose the right datastore and set a value for it

    Hope this helps
