How do you create a rule to set different threshold per database or exclude a specific database from monitoring?
Foglight as identified some opportunities in our environment, which is a good thing, however they are going to take time to resolve and I do not want my oncall team getting paged on these issues regularly.
there are a couple of approaches you could take. Firstly for SQL and Oracle you can select the instances you require for alerting in the global view and then enter Agent Setting / Admin. Here you can view the alarms and set email alerting and thresholds.For SQL Server there is also a database exclusion option.
Alternatively you coukd use the service builder to add agents and hosts in to the groups you want alerts on. There is an email option in this feature. You can use this to filter out various alarms that are to be ignore. This would work for Sybase as well.
