Top Troubleshooting Issues:
Q:
You receive the following error in the DDP installation log:
File 'D:\SMS\XmlStorage\Extensions\bin\Deployment\Dell\PowerEdge\setup\PowerEdgeDeployment.mof' was not found. Cannot continue.
A:
We have seen this error on sites that were upgraded from SMS 2003 to ConfigMgr 2007. Check the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Setup\UI Installation Directory - verify that the data is set to the actual console directory - for example, we have seen this value set to D:\SMS, when it should be D:\SMS\AdminUI
Q:
You receive an error during installation
"Installation of this product requires the computer to have Configuration Manager Site Server or the Administration Console installed. Neither product was detected. The installation cannot continue"
- but you verified that the ConfigMgr Console is installed.
A:
In Windows Vista and Server 2008, Launch a Command Prompt as administrator (R-click, 'Run as Administrator'), and execute the installation from the command prompt.
