I don't know why VMware makes it so difficult to get Vcenter server running. Heck it was no picnic on 3.5 but 4.0 was insanely difficult. Hard week is all and I wanted vent somewhere....

Most of my production VM's are running on 3.5 hosts, but that is supposed to change over night tonight as they all come up on the 4.0 Vsphere hosts.... Wish me luck...

To vent a little more...

Scored a 2970 6 core host on the Dell Outlet store for $879.... They upped the system requirements so much for Vcenter 4.0 that it would not run on our surrent box running the 3.5.... So the new Vcenter is on a new host as a VM. The new host is hooked to our test SAN and effectively finally gives me a fully functional test setup. Which should be real nice going forward. We always kept a spare MD3000i around anyways.
