This script takes the interface statistics from show int output on the switch

then reformats them one interface per line like this

Interface Input Output

GigabitEthernet 0/0 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/1 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/2 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/3 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/4 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/5 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/6 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/7 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/8 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/9 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/10 00.00 00.00

GigabitEthernet 0/11 00.00 00.00

and then sends them to an ftp server that you specify where they can be read

and processed by the script or program that you are using to create traffic graphs.

The file created will be Netstats-16-8-2010-13:55.txt where 16 is the date, 8 is the month followed by the year and time.

all Input/Output speeds are listed in Mbits/s

The purpose of this script is to save you from having to run snmp listers that could

pose a potential security risk is misconfigured on each switch while still being

able to collect and graph traffic.

All that is required to use it is setting a few simple variables explained

in the comments at the beginning of the file.
