Hello All,

This is my first post in this forum. I have searched for all posts that can solve my issues but i could not find it so if there is already an existing post and i could not find it please guide me to it.

My case is. We have few Dell PowerConnect 28xx switches in our network. We want to monitor few things like the CPU utilization, temperature, RAM utilization. We are using Solarwinds IpMonitor tool for monitoring. I have downloaded the MIB i could find from the Firmware download of Dell Drivers and Downloads page. I went through the entire MIB but i could not find any OID for any of the above.


So if anyone can please help me which OID is used for CPU, temperature and RAM utilization it will really help me.


Please let us know in case more information is needed from my side.

  • I have not used SNMP on the 28xx but here are some various sensor OIDs I've used for the N-Series as well as some older Powerconnect models.  I'm not sure if they will work for the 2xxx, but you can try one or two and see if they work.

    N-Series (6.2 FW and later) Temperature OIDs

    Thank you so much for the help and i apologize for the late answer as i was testing the OIDs sent by you. Initially none worked but there was a firmware update available for my Dell 2848 switches so after updating firmware in all switches i tried the OIDs again below OIDs worked perfectly on my switches.

    So if anybody out there having Dell 28xx switches and want to monitor CPU, Memory etc. first update the switch firmware to: Software Version: 1.0.0.45, Boot Version: 1.0.0.13 and then try below OIDs. It worked for me at least:

    35xx (2.0.x.x firmware or later)
