Communication between vlan1 & vlan100 on powerconnect

Answered (Not Verified) This question has suggested answer(s)

dears,

I have a stack with 7 powerconnect 6248.

All my equipment are connected to this stack on the network 192.168.1.0/24.  But i have no more IP in this network, and i want ot add a new network 192.168.2.0/24.

I need to keep the mask for different raison.

Does it possible to add a VLAN (ex vlan100) dedicated to few port  in the network 192.168.2.0/24  with full communication wich are connected in the vlan by default: vlan1?

I now how to do that for communication betwenn VLAN100 & VLAN200. But i don't know how to configure switches to have communication between the vlan by defaut and another vlan .

Thank's for your help.

Ben

  • communicating between the default vlan is the same as it would be between 2 other vlans, simply promote the 6248 to a L3 switch with the command "ip routing" and have the gateway as separate vlan interfaces.

been awhile since i used vlan 1 for traffic....but i think you also need to set the switch IP address to a differnet vlan "ip address vlan x" so that routing can be enabled on VLAN 1 and an IP address can be set
