Dealing with some issues between the old powerconnect switch code and the new line of switches and their code.
The problem is that i receive numerous discards over a trunk link (about 2000 per hour) between my powerconnect 6248 and a powerconnect m6220. Doesn't seem to affect performance, it's just really annoying
Here is the config on the LAG ports:
Powerconnect 6248:interface port-channel 1description 'To Enclosure Switches'spanning-tree guard rootswitchport mode trunkswitchport trunk allowed vlan add 10,100exit
Powerconnect m6220:interface port-channel 3description 'To VoIP Rack Stack'switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,100switchport mode trunkexitNow, i think the problem is surrounding the code on the m6220 and that it handles native vlanning differently...
There is a second command available on the m6220 which is not available on the 6248:switchport trunk native vlan X - which i think is the command i need to fix the problems, but there is no corresponding command on the 62xx, additionally, on my powerconnect 55xx, there is an option for switchport trunk native vlan none - this option is not available on the m6220....
I am sorry but do not follow exactly what works on the m6220 or the 6248. But i think this will help your
Thanks for the links - the answer is to not use trunk mode on the 6248 because it doesn't have the same functionality as the m6220 - switch to general mode instead
