Statistica mapping capabilities

This question is answered

Since maps have been added, I was curious if functions were added to calculate things such as distances or polygon area from points stored as latitude and longitude pairs?

  • Hello, such functions are usually oneliners and can be created in formulae (e.g. in the transformation node in the workspace) . They are also available in some databases, before the data hits analytics, for example http://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/interactive/datatype-geometric.html  . Maybe you can get that pre-processing done on the database side .. ? I know it is not the direct answer but hope it is of help .. someone else from Dell can probably give more definite answer on what exactly is coming in v13 in this respect.

  • I think this is a great idea, can you add a list of functions you would like added and we can see if we can insert some into the product development road map.  What would you use these distances for?
