Dell HPC Engineers have been selected to lead two Birds of a Feather (BOF) sessions at SC11. Designed to be interactive and informative, the BOFs are non-promotional and generally deliver some great technical content. The BOFs Dell is session leaders on include, HPC NFS (Not your Father's Storage) by Dr. Jeff Layton, and HPC Visualization: Seeing is Understanding by Elliot Berger. See details below.
HPC Visualization: Seeing is Understanding
Hosted by Elliot Berger
Nov. 17 @ 5:30 p.m.
ABSTRACT:Visualization has become an essential tool in scientific research, spanning many areas of science and engineering research and design. This session will share first-hand experiences in conceptualization, planning, design and implementation of visualization solutions, from entry-level to the largest clusters and walls. Various speakers from vendors and users will share their experiences.
HPC NFS (Not your Father's Storage)
Hosted by Dr. Jeff Layton
ABSTRACT:NFS is undergoing a renaissance in HPC. In this BoF, various aspects of NFS storage for HPC will be presented and discussed. Included willl be hardware, networking and file systems. The focus is on scalability for performance and capacity including the next generation. Various speakers from vendors and users will share their experiences.
