PS600 and PowerConnect 5424 part 1
Hello Everyone.
I am in the middle of a virtualization project. Currently configurring 2 poweredge r610, 2 powerconnect 5424 and 1 PS6000. I have everything hooked up and am trying to figure what the best way to hook up the switches are. I have changed some settings I followed Jeff S post
http://www.delltechcenter.com/page/Configuring+a+PowerConnect+5424+or+5448+Switch+for+use+with+an+iSCSI+storage+system
.
Now, I am unsure if I should be linking both switches or keep them independent of each other. I was looking at this diagram
http://www.delltechcenter.com/photos/album/164096/Sample+EqualLogic+SAN+Configurations/photo/9396831/Scalable+Stacked+SAN
. I also read this http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-switches/f/866/t/19252807.aspx .
I wanted to know how many ports I should be trunking total 8? What is everyone else doing? Once these questions are answered and I can keep going I am sure I can get the rest going.
Thanks in advance for replying.

RE: PS600 and PowerConnect 5424 part 1
Hello,
First, yes you must have an Inter Switch Link between the switches. The array will use any available port to reach any initiator.
With one array, three would be the minimum but four would be recommended.
Also make sure the array is running FW 4.3.6.
