fglrx driver on 7020 (Z50Q) with Radeon HD 8400E Chipset

  • Hi,

I tried to install the proprietary fglrx-Driver on my Z50Q running "Ubuntu mate 16.04".

The installation works fine but after a reboot I got no graphic output. The screen is always black :(

    Here is the xorg.log:

    What's going wrong???

  • Today, I have installed Debian 8.6 on my Wyse Z50Q. With Debian fglrx (v 15.302.1101) works, but the bad news is that the performance is bad Tongue Tied

Text scrolling in Chrome or Firefox Browser generates "stairway artefacts". The free Radeon Driver does this much better.

3D is not tested because I will not need it.

Does anybody know why the proprietary Drivers performes so bad? I have installed this version:

    Step 1: Embedded Graphics

    Step 2: Radeon Embedded

Step 3: G-Series SOC 1st Gen former codename "eKabini"

    Step 4: Linux x86_64

    The result:

In my opinion this should be the correct driver Hmm

    Or not?
