Unable to find suitable driver to Windows 7 for device like: "BcmNFCBus_257"
Still. I have problems deploying some drivers with WDS.
Specially two of them:
1. Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework Driver - it installs, but throws some errors to event log.
2. Dell ControlVault Driver - it seems like some components are installed and some are missing (missing/not working..yellow exclamination mark) and only workaround is to manually install the downloaded EXE package. After that all devices seems to be there.
@Sven Jaanson - Can you please share the error that you are seeing in the log? If in any of the below cases you are seeing a partial yellow bang in device manager, can you go to the properties->general tab and copy the error that appears there? Please post the same here.
@DELL-Sreejith D - Sorry, at the moment this model is already in production. So I can not reproduce details.
Basically, it seems like deploying drivers via WDS (Windows Deployment Services 2008R2), especially ControlVault drivers has some problems - there was some yellow exclamination mark indicating that has no driver: "BcmNFCBus_257". But if ran "ControlVault Driver" installation package it finds all required drivers.
Intel DPTF installs, devices are found, but in the event log throws some warnings like missing cataloques in "%systemroot%\dpt" (or something similar). Error varies, depending if I only use WDS injected drivers or manually installed the DPTF package.
Last seen error was like:
Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework : ESIF(8.0.10002.14) TYPE: ERROR FUNC: rsrc_app_start_app_in_active_user_session FILE: rsrc_app.c LINE: 328
Unable to start capture program. Error = 2
So I think the drivers itself are fine, but there could be some mistake in DPTF programs itself. Google seems to have no useful knowledge at all about Intel DPTF.
Forgot to mention - OS Win 7 x64 w latest updates (image itself is up-to-date).
We were working on understanding about the DPTF related issues. Both issues are being looked into by our internal teams. NFC driver isn't included for Windows 7 alone so far. I will revert once I have a resolution on this.
I have also noticed this issue in OSD through SCCM, but I took note of the fact that when I loaded the drivers after the operating system was deployed, via Device Manager, it took several attempts to load all drivers - loading one driver begets more devices requiring further driver discovery. This is similar to what you see with USB3 and touchpad drivers. We create software packages to install these instead of relying on mini-setup.
Deploying with MDT/LiteTouch. Device Manager errors on "CVUSBDRVBus_257" and "Synaptics SMBus Driver".
Manually pointing "CVUSBDRVBus_257" to ".\E5450_5450-win7-A02-85TTP\E5450_5450\win7\x86\security\GVDJT_A00-00" installs a driver for "Control Vault w/ Fingerprint Swipe Sensor".
After a reboot, "Synaptics SMBus Driver" still shows error.
If I uninstall the driver for this, and then rescan, it shows up as "SM Bus Controller". Pointing it to "".\E5450_5450-win7-A02-85TTP\E5450_5450\win7\x86" when updating the driver, it installs as "Intel Device".
All of these drivers are delivered to the OS during the Driver Injection phase of the OS task sequence. Any reason why they are not installing?
Hi, I have a problem with Latitude E5450 and 7250, in OSD with SCCM 2012.
The boot image loads, but I only see the wallpaper, after a while it just reboots. If I stop the reboot by pressing F8 and I do a ipconfig I have nothing so it looks like it's a network driver issue giving that if I use a Task Sequence Media it works exept for network features (activation of licences, joining domain, etc...)
I added the network driver from DELL SUPPORT and the ones in this .CAB but nothing seems to work.
Any ideas ?
After a deployment of Windows 7 32bit with SCCM 2012 I have 2 devices with "missing" drivers on them. When I query PnP for the system details I get the below information about the devices that are missing. Any idea on what this should be?
MDT Deployment Workbench won't import the drivers from the CAB file. Looks like it wants a Zip file instead. Ideas?
@clarkcomputer - Use WinZip to extract the folders from the cab, then import from the folders.
Still no fix for:
Intel(R) Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework
ESIF(8.0.10002.14) TYPE: ERROR FUNC: esif_send_dsp FILE: esif_uf_dsp.c LINE: 103
esif_send_dsp: file not found (C:\Windows\dsp\dpf_cmem.edp)
esif_send_dsp: file not found (C:\Windows\dsp\dpf_dptf.edp)
Same issue as Sven. It's also documented here:
I have to disable the 4 IDPT class drivers in order to successfully image a machine with this driver package.
These drivers are unsigned and fail to install if you're relying on a silent PNP install:
Almost a full year since DELL-Sreejith D said internal teams were working on the DTPF errors. I'm still getting these errors on a 7450 despite using the latest DPTF driver.
