Cannot image OptiPlex 7040 using MDT.
I cannot seem to boot with WinPE. I have downloaded the 7040 cab and extracted it. I have loaded the drivers and it is still missing the iaStorB.sys None of the driver packs seem to contain this. Please help
I don't seem to be able to image a Dell 7040 configured with a 256 GB SAMSUNG SSD using the cab from this page. Not sure if the SSD is a factor in this, the storage controller may be though as I get a 0x7b blue screen after the MDT installation wizard has completed and windows attempts a first boot.
I deleted the storage controller drivers from MDT and replaced with the ones provided on the DELL support page but still the same issue.
Is anyone else having this issue?

If it is an NVMe SSD, then you must install a hotfix from Microsoft to be able to access it. Please refer to FAQ #7 on our FAQ page -> en.community.dell.com/.../8031.dell-command-deploy-faq
I can't speak for the others, but my problem is way before the OS loading stage. I can't get past the partition and format C: in SCCM after injecting the driver pack for the OptiPlex 7040. I then manually went and injected all the drivers from the support site after looking up my service tag and still can't get past that point.
You running SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 with CU1? KB3074857.
Thanks, I haven't applied hotfixes (versus windows updates right?) before during SCCM OS deployment so I will have to try and work that angle. Thanks for the reply I will let you know.
Negative - we're still on 2007. We're kicking around the idea of upgrading to 2016 once we get our Windows 10 deployment squared away, but have passed on 2012 thus far since we were having no issues with imaging and deploying our standard software load to the rest of our fleet (OptiPlex 7010s with SSDs, although not M.2 SSDs). If I throw a regular SSD or SATA drive in one of the 7040s I can image it fine so it appears it just doesn't like that Samsung PM951 M.2 SSD.

This fixed the issue for me, I injected both the hotfix's offline and now my windows 7 image boots on 7040 with the NRMe SSD ..

I am not able to find a network driver that will work. I imported all the network drivers in the SCCM Boot Image (x64), yet it still doesn't find the network adapter. Any ideas?
I can not get the 256gb SSD to to appear in the windows installation imaging process. I get a warning "no drives were found. Click to load Driver...." I tried loading the driver manually here, it finds a matching driver but does still not display the disk. I have also injected the drivers into my boot image. I've tried the drivers from this CAB and from the download site. Anyone having any luck getting these disks to image?

We use the built-in display port, after building the workstation with SCCM and having the drivers for the Intel 530 installed during the task sequence, the Display Adapter that is applied is "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)" I have to manually go into the device and apply the driver. Any idea why it's not applying? Didn't have issues with previous 7020's.
