We have created the following video tutorial for our OEM customers that need to upgrade from Windows 10 version 1507 or 1511 to Windows 10 version 1607. Microsoft has made available the Windows 10 Installation Media Tool. This Media Creation Tool helps you download Windows 10 version 1607. This version is also known as the Anniversary Update. Below are some links to additional articles in how to get the update.
In the video, we chose to use a VM we created using VMWare Workstation 12. The same tasks can be performed on two additional VM platforms that are known to work with Dell ImageAssist. For additional information on the VM platforms used to create images using ImageAssist, click HERE for our ImageAssist virtual machine tutorials. The links below is what we used to get our ISO for the update illustrated in the video.
Performing the upgrade from an OEM copy of your Windows 10 ISO downloaded from our support site, will also inherit the upgrade licensing of the upgrade as an OEM license. We also illustrate how to properly delete the Windows.old folder after the upgrade. Removing the folder will allow you to regain, on average, 19.5GB of disk space. I was wanting to capture 1607 for my next CFI build. This looks like it will be very helpful. Thanks for putting this together David!
Just be aware that if you attempt to use MCT now, it will download 1703 and not 1607.
If you need 1607, you should get it from Windows Update.
