• What is the hold up on getting Windows 2012 R2 on Dell Servers?

  • Hi RobertSeattle2,

Thanks for asking. Today (12/5) is our official launch of Windows Server 2012 R2 on our supported platforms.

  •
Oddly though Microsoft 's single Standard license is now good for up to 2 processors or two virtual instances of servers Dell refuses to quote anything less than a two processors at a premium cost. This is the least costly Server 2012: • OLP SNGL LANG WIN SVR STD 2012R2 NL 2PROC

  • FYI- There is no one processor license available for Standard Edition. This is the same for Windows Server 2012 as well. You can find these details and more in the "Windows Server 2012 Licensing and Pricing FAQ" provided my Microsoft.
