Version 1.7 of the Dell Management Plug-in for VMware vCenter adds features that continue to highlight robust integration between Dell and  VMware.  On behalf of the entire Dell Management Plug-in for VMware vCenter team, let me share the highlights of our latest release:

  • First, we have enabled using Active Directory user accounts.
    • You can now use a single Active Directory account to simplify the management of connection profiles.
  • Second, we are adding the ability to schedule firmware updates.
    • Now, you can schedule updates when it is most appropriate for your environment.
  • Third, 1.7 now supports updating multiple Dell hosts firmware in a single workflow.
    •  Working with VMware’s DRS TM and vMotion TM  from VMware, a six step wizard can automatically update all servers in a cluster without losing workload productivity.
  • Fourth, we've added support for both vSphere 5.0 U2 and 5.1 U1.

To access this free update, use the appliance update mechanism in the Administration Console or download the free trial and use your existing license. The full trial version is available at  Free 1 host trial View details of the release in the 1.7 documentation.
