OpenStack and Hadoop
OpenStack is a global community of developers working to create an alternative open source solution to Amazon EC2 and S3. Dell has been an active member of the community since its founding and currently distributes and supports OpenStack deployments. Dell has also developed Dell Crowbar, an open source installation tool built on Chef to install OpenStack quickly and automatically.

Hadoop, an Apache open source software library, is a framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using a simple programming model. It is designed to scale up from single servers to thousands of machines, each offering local computation and storage. Dell has been active in this community by developing an open source installation tool, Dell Crowbar.
