Recently, Red Hat announced the availability of the first service pack to their release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1 includes driver updates, bug fixes and support for new hardware, refer to RHEL 6.1 release notes for more info.

Some of the new features in RHEL 6.1 include introduction of  consistent NIC naming feature, an optional convention for naming network interfaces (refer to the blog for more information) and support for new hardware (including but not limited to  Broadcom 57712, Intel 82599 and QLogic 8242 based networking devices).
