HITVE

This question is answered

In the installation instructions for HITVE it talks about installing Microsoft Sysprep on the vCenter server. Where do you place the sysprep and are there any good instruction on using the sysprep for creating VM's using HITVE?

Verified Answer
  • The info on where sysprep goes is in the vCenter instructions.    Since it's VCS that leverages sysprep when creating new VMs or deploying from a template.

  • You are welcome.  I was tied up earlier, so  I just did a quick Google search and found this:

    kb.vmware.com/.../search.do

Once setup it's pretty cool.  When you do a clone or deploy from template, you enter in hostname, domain, etc and VMware will call sysprep and configure it per your info.   So when the VM boots up it's all configured.
