hi all: I have the following problem with storage md3600f, i present a LUN to my server with Windows Server 2008 R2, but every time I reboot, the LUN does not connect automatically, any clue about this issue? best regards
What I would start with then if you have not done so yet would be to make sure that the HBA is up to the latest driver and firmware revision. What HBA are you using? I can send you the links to the downloads that you will need.

Below is the link to the resource CD which includes the MD management software which includes the MPIO for these units.

Let me know how this works.
JLNA221082,
From what it is sounding like is a zoning issue. What I would recommend is to start by making sure the HBA cards are up to date with the latest firmware. Attached is a PDF for configuring Fibre Channel with this MD3600F Storage Array. If you go to Page 8 it starts the section that explains the zoning process. I would make sure that everything is cabled properly via the diagrams in the document.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you with anything.
Zoning would make little to no difference with this. Zoning either lets fiber traffic through or it doesn't. It doesn't have delayed connection times like spanning-tree on ethernet (for iSCSI you would set spanning-tree to portfast for that reason).
It sounds more like an issue with HBA drivers, HBA firmware, HBA settings and/or the MPIO drivers (MDSM host software).
What do you have to do to reconnect? Is it a rescan in device manager to see the disk, or do you need to online the disk maybe?
Edit: One possible exception to the zoning statement; if you have 2 HBAs in the same zone (e.g. both HBAs from 1 server), it could cause issues. This includes having your switch wide-open.

Hi
the server only have one hba with one port, and i have to do a rescan on the device manager to reconnect the LUN, i'm using MPIO from Microsoft
Best Regards
The MD-series isn't validated/doesn't support 'bare' Microsoft MPIO. You'll want to install the MD3600's host software for sure.
Try that first as that is a very likely cause.
