System restore for Inspiron 1525

This question is not answered

I am trying to do a system restore for my Inspiron.  I cannot get to the desktop page so am trying to access via the F8 key to get to the options.  But nothing is happening when I try this - despite several attempts.

Can anyone help with what I need to do now?

  • npascazio,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

The pc restore may be corrupted as well. Can you get into Safe Mode by pressing F12 at boot up? If so, try doing a "System Restore"

  • Thank you for the very prompt response and suggestion.  I am able to get into the system via F12 but did not see a System Restore option.  The options given were along the lines of using internal drives, BIOS etc.  Cant quite remember as I do not have the lap top open in front of me now.  I will boot up again and write down the options given.

    Thanks again.

  • npascazio,

Once you hit F12 choose to enter windows through Safe Mode. Once there go to accessories then to  system tools and onto system restore.
