The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of the kernel-mode translation module. This may indicate misconfiguration, insufficient resources, or an internal error.

  •  I get this error message displayed in the error log on my Dimension 8300:

The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of the kernel-mode translation module. This may indicate misconfiguration, insufficient resources, or an internal error. The data is the error code.

It appears most days and over 50 times on 20th June. A solution to this would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Perhaps this MS KB article may be helpful, although it's for Win2K and not WinXP.

A couple other ideas are on this page.

  • Thanks Derf. The Microsoft resolution page states: "change the mask of the address pool to the subnet mask that the external network uses."

MIcrosoft has no information as to how to actually implement the resolution so any advice would be gratefully received.
