Boot into Safe Mode

This question is not answered

I have a PowerEdge 1850 it has Windows Server standard 2003. I need to boot this server into safe mode. I have tried f8 but that does not work. Anyone have any ideas?

  • F8 is a matter of timing ... start tapping F8 twice per second starting as soon as the 5-second BMC message is at about 5 seconds; if you see the Windows screen, it's too late.  Do you see a Windows screen if you boot normally?  If not, what is the message?  If your Windows is too corrupted or your RAID array is offline, then F8 will not work ... but you won't see anything else Windows-related either.  Boot to CTRL-M, Configure, View/Add to see the status of your drives, then F3 to see the RAID array status.

  • Hi,

I have the same problem In DELL PE 2850, We have 3 HDD Configured in RAID,  i Could See 1 DISK Fails & 2 Disk are Online in (CTRL-M, Configure, View/Add) How could i proceed further to bring the Failure status Online.. Thanks for your help in Advance. I am a beginner please help to resovle this issue.

  • Can you boot to your OS?  With a single disk failed, you should be able to boot to Windows and access everything normally.
