PowerEdge T110 with Windows Server 2008

This question has been answered by Azmi Yusoff

Guys,

Per my system

C5 R5 with PERC S100

3 x 250GB Sata II HDD

With sata raid 5 mode enabled, now installing with Windows Server 2008, but kind of stuck for driver required upon installation (collecting information).

Which driver should i use?

If i used the sata AHCI mode, the installation completed.

  • my two cents: why not use  the Dell ystems management tools and documentation disc (SMTD), it would have been so much easier. This disc should have came with your system as well (though it might be an older version).

Download the two ISO file segments to a new, empty folder and concatenate them. Create a single DVD image file using the following commands:
    Windows: copy /b OM* OM_630_SMTD_A00.iso
    Linux: cat OM* > OM_630_SMTD_A00.iso

  • Tried with the supplied DVD but failed because it not recognize (not valid) my 2008 DVD.

  • Tried loaded both it in FDD, but yet seem not the correct driver. it does not recognize.

Or how is the correct way?

  • Hello.  I have run the above procedure several times and each time the OS install fails.  The RAID is configured, I use the Dell USC to load the drivers and select the OS from the os deployment window.  The server then reboots and the OS install fails with no drivers.  Is there another step here that I am missing?
