I have an inspiron 1525 with Vista home premiun.
I have a TV hooked to it by the use of an HDMI cable.
I get the video on the TV but the audio comes through the PC speakers.
:How do I get the audio on play on the TV?
You must add audio cables. The video card in a computer is not capable of sound, even though HDMI does transmit sound. HDMI can only transmit it from a tv tuner card or cable box, dvd player, vcr. HDMI only transmits video from a computer's video card to a monitor or a tv.
I have the same problem with my XPS M1530. Dell took control and tried for 2 hours last night before giving up on getting sound to come from my video card. He never told me that the video card did not support audio.
If the video card does not support audio how does audio come from the computer speakers while a DVD is playing but not the TV when connected with a HDMI cable?
Do I need a Video card that supports audio? I have heard people do get audio on their TV when playing DVDs connected via a HDMI cable.
