By that I mean ones that are still type II, but that are brand new and a lot larger, say 8gb?

The Axim X50/X50v has two (2) slots located on the top of the unit. The larger slot supports Compact Flash Type II cards. The smaller slot supports Secure Digital (SD) memory cards, Secure Digital I/O (SDIO) cards and the MultiMediaCard (MMC). All three memory card types are available in sizes from 64MB to 1 or 2 GB. I cannot say if it will see the larger size cards since the cards were not that big in size when Dell released the Axim.
