Can't update Axim X30 ROM to A06 version

  • Hello.
I am trying to upgrade the ROM on an Axim X30 that still has A00 on it. I've checked on DELL's site which was the latest ROM available and I've downloaded the file for ROM A06.
When I unzip the files with the executable provided (R101483.EXE) and the update program starts I get the following error message: "The System Update file can not be found. Reinstall the System Update .", and then it just closes.
I've done a hard reset on the device, tried with Activesync 3.8 and 4.2, but nothing helps.......
Does someone have a solution for this, so I can upgrade my device?

    Thanks a lot !!!
  • Wow! almost 2 years and no answer to this problem??  I am trying to update the ROM of a spanish version to english, I'm getting the same error.  Has ANYONE ever fixed this?

    Thanks

    Paul

  • I got the same error message at first. Then I found the instructions and they worked on my x30.

    Installation Instructions

    1. Download File
    2. Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R101483.EXE.
    3. The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R101483. Write down this path so the executable (i.e. Setup.exe) file can be found later.
    4. The Self-Extractor window appears.
    5. Click OK.
    6. After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.
    7. Click the Start button and then click Run.
    8. Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R101483 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
    9. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

    Hope this helps.
