Hi!
Forgive me for being a newbie but I'll try an explain this as best I can. I have tried for hours to connect a U2414H using the suppled mini DisplayPort cable to a new MacBook Pro with retina screen. It has the Nvidia graphics. I am using the Thunderbolt 2 port which is capable of using the 1.2 version of DisplayPort. I have tried both the settings for v1 & v1.2 of DisplayPort to no avail. I have played with the RGB settings and no luck. Only the HDMI port works with the monitor.I've had a look at the EDID issues mentioned here http://www.ireckon.net/2013/03/force-rgb-mode-in-mac-os-x-to-fix-the-picture-quality-of-an-external-monitor
I've tried the patch talked about but the Terminal doesn't like the script. Does anybody have a solution to this rather frustrating problem?
Thanks in advance.

So are you saying that the Macbook Pro will not work with a U2414H monitor via the DP port?
The documentation you pointed me towards makes no mention of the monitor. Can you please clarify a possible solution to this rather major problem for your monitor.
I am saying that Dell never tested our monitors on apple proprietary hardware and software, so we will not have any troubleshooting data to offer you. As I said in my FAQ, "The notes below (in the FAQ) are from apple users, not Dell.". You must go to the apple forum:https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa
Interesting that Dell does not want to interface with one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world...
Surely Dell would want to make sure that their products are able to work with as much hardware as possible.
