I replaced both the Black & Color ink cartridges on my two year old Dell 926 printer. I now get an error message to "remove cartridge tape" and the alignment page prints only in blue with faded blue streaks. The test page that shows the 3 numbered boxes appears to print OK. There is no tape left on the cartridges and I swabbed the contacts of both cartridges. Suggestions? Thanks!
Are you using Dell Series 9 ink cartridges?
Unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer for 60 seconds. Plug everything back in. This will reset any error messages the printer has.
Power on the printer. Open the printer and take out the Dell Series 9 Black cartridge. make sure all the tape is off the cartridge and put the cartridge back in. Now do the same for the Dell Series 9 color cartridge.

Pudgyone: Thanks for your help. Yes, I order all of my Cartridges from the Dell site. I replaced the black one two weeks past and it was spotty in performance from the start and then I replaced the color one this week. I did all that you rstill prints partially. I'll contact Dell about returning the bad black cartridge. again, Thanks!!
The number should be on the shipping slip. I have seen this a few times before, so Dell should send you a replacement cartridge.
