3115 Laser printer - how to reset password

This question is not answered

Hi,

I am trying to make some setting changes to my 3115 laser printer, but I forgot my password. Is there a way to reset it so I can make these changes.

Thanks for your help.

Operator panel lock is cleared by pressing and holding the menu button while powering on.

If you need access into the EWS, let me know..... I'll have to send it as soon as I can find it.

  • If anyone knows how to reset the web interface password, I would love to know...

Edit: nevermind, i found it - re-initialize the nvm

  • OK, forget my last post, I did this both for the user settings and system settings, and still can't get into the web interface...does anyone know of a way to reset this password?

  • I've got several "levels" of reset procedures..... can you tell me exactly what you've tried? (so I don't give you something you've already done)

  • OK...

The good news: the password has been reset

The bad news: it was reset (somehow) during one of the 4 or 5 times that I went through the instructions in the manual for installing the printer on my wireless network

The worse news: the printer still will not work through wireless, although I have followed all the instructions to the letter

I know this is off the original topic, but it seems like the setup software really has trouble finding the printer to install it, even though the firewall has been disabled, etc and I can access the printer's web interface through it's wireless adapter.  I would just circumvent the setup software, give the printer a static IP and add it manually to my server, but then it seems that I can't do any duplex printing...is there a 3115 specialist that I could contact by phone and share the fun???

PS - I even tried doing the automatic printer discovery for the wired network installation, but had to manually add the printer (using it's IP, creating a port, etc.) - the setup software seems to have problems finding the printer either way...and I have completely stopped the (windows server 2008) firewall service, so that's not it.

Any suggestions (or a phone number to call) would be much appreciated - thanks!

  • Sorry I haven't hit this thread in awhile..... boss expects me to make him some money now and then Surprise

All this is very unusual. Can you define how things are connected on your network? Ya know, "what's-connected-to-what" (the leg bone's connected to the thighbone, etc.)

If you take the configuration down to minimum: wire the PC to the router, wire the printer to the router, then run the "discovery" routine..... Since we know what doesn't work, let's see what does work.

  • Any idea how to reset a Dell 3330DN? I've followed most of you all's posts and none of the key combos seem to work.
