Hi, pleas help me out. I have a Dell Inspiron mini 10 (1010) (Windows XP), which used to work perfect. But after i got a new computer, i didn't use it for a long time and now as i turn it on the wireless internet just appears to be offline. I tried to uninstall the wirless network drivers, and reinstall them, and the funny thing is that while it downloads, the internet actually works, but as soon as it finishes, it goes offline again. I really don't know what to do, so pleas help me out..
Thanks :(
Benesma7,
Can you run an ipconfig /all log and post the information back here.
Rick

What happens?
Places to look to see if your Connection is enabled
See if letting Windows manage your connection helps.
How can I disable wireless configuration services and enable the Windows XP Wireless Zero Configuration services
Try running WinSock XP Fix
Still nothing... I tried serval solutions, but nothing helps. But what confuses me, is that when I reinstall the Dell Wireless WLan Card, the wireless net start working.. But as soon as the installation finishes, it disconnect again..
Was the opertaing system recently reinstalled?
You're not using Mac adress filtering in your wireless router? Are you using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11.
What virus program and firewall are you using? I have seen some virus programs cause issues.
Ehm... I am using all the recomended settings, but still nothing. I believe if it was the Mac adress filtering that was coursing the problem, i would still be able to see other connections. Now I cant see any connections it just says: "No connections are available", although as said, if i reinstall the driver, it shows all the connections and i am able to surf on internet. But as it finishes, it all go back to 'no connections available'. I have another Acer laptop, and it works with no problems, so it can't be the net that is the problem. It must be some setting on the dell computer i believe
Did you change the antenna diversity to Aux, then restart the computer?
Which virus program are you using?
Yes i did that, And it don't change anything.
I used to have Norton Security, but i deleted it yesterday in lack of getting the internet back.
But I'm thinking, what if i reinstall windows, don't you think that will make it?
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool.
Restart your computer and try to connect.
Did you install a new virus program?
Ok i ran Norton Removal Tool and restarted, but didn't change antegning.
And no i didnt install any new program
Try...
Repair/Reset Winsock settings
In addition to what Rick stated above, Uninstall the Dell Wireless application and restart the system.
Run Windows update and check if windows would install the driver for you. If the driver doesnt get installed via windows update do post back.
