I'm running XP on a dell 1705. Firewall etc. I am current on all my Windows updates and do not see any conflicts.
I have CA Trust Antivirus, On my firewall report, log viewer list, I'm finding that the WLTRAY.EXE file is attempting to spawn a program every 3 seconds I'm connected to the internet. Of course the firewall is blocking the attempts, however I have found no information on how to stop this file from doing this.
The description is actually identified as: "Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Tray Applet is attempting to spawn a program."
The object is identified as: "C:\Windows\system32\BCMWLTRY.EXE"
I'm concerned that this file is corrupt.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Is this file trying to hijack my system?
As far as I know, both files are related to the dell wireless utility. You can either tell CA to ignore it, or you can uninstall the utility and let windows manage the wireless connection directly.
