I just bought a 2nd Dell Inspiron for my wife. Problem is, it won't connect to my wireless network without kicking off my other laptop. So, only one laptop can be on at once. I tried for hours to figure it out last night to no avail.
Is it something with the IP addresses or router settings?
I need detailed (step by step) instructions to figure this out because I'm no too computer savvy.
Thanks in advance!
ocsurf74,
Try start, control panel, network and sharing center. Click on your network. then click on properties. Go down the list and see if any allow you to click on properties. Make sure the computer is set for DHCP and not a static ip address. Having two identical ip addresses will disconnect the other computer from the network.

Thanks Rick, I'll try what you suggest, though I don't understand why it has been working fine for the past 2 weeks and suddenly stopped...
Still doesn't work. Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks
Liory,
Have seen virus program update and firewalls update and disable settings. Have seen power flickers cause conection problems and people using the auto channel feature in their wireless routers, switching channels and some wireless adapters do not like sertain channels, especially int ones in wireless printers and USB adapters.
